About the Talk
In this fast-paced industry, there is an endless stream of trends to follow and updates to digest. Our brains are already bursting at the seams with ideas, deadlines and more; there’s hardly room to store the 150th update to Instagram’s algorithm or the latest pontifications on a new platform that’ll likely die out before we have a chance to understand it. Most days it can feel like a full-time job just trying to keep up with everything. This session offers simple, practical tools and methods to reclaim your time and mental space by reprioritizing your schedule, carefully choosing sources and ruthlessly saying “No” to things that frankly just don’t matter. You’ll leave feeling equipped to become an even greater expert on topics that apply to you and free to let others be the experts on topics that apply to them. Whether you constantly doomscroll, chronically bookmark articles you’ll never actually read or just give up on the whole thing daily, this session is for you!
About the Speaker

Nathan Sims, Paid Media Manager at Visit OKC, is an expert media buyer with a true passion for data. Armed with a B.A. in Advertising, an M.A. in Strategic Communications (both from the University of Oklahoma) and an unusual love for math, Nathan has been strategizing, budgeting and reporting on paid media campaigns for over 3 years. After two years working remotely for a New York ad agency, Nathan moved in-house to build out Visit OKC’s paid advertising campaigns. He is wildly passionate about Oklahoma City and loves aggregating data to inform campaigns that will lead others to share that same passion. In his spare time, Nathan can be found either checking out the newest local restaurants or running all over Norman and OKC in a pair of last season’s Saucony Omni shoes.
